Sharpen Each Other For Good

Sharpen each other for good ~ The foundation of God’s word for this theme of our meditation is taken from the book of Proverbs. This is the word of God: “Iron sharpens iron; one man sharpens another” – Proverbs 27:17.

Iron must be used to sharpen iron. Sharpened by sharpening the iron with another iron. Likewise, people need others to help them perfect themselves and become better and more righteous.

This proverb tells two truths. The first truth is about the importance and need for real friends. The second truth is about the importance and necessity of constructive criticism.

Too many Christians fear being corrected or criticized for fear of causing conflict. But in reality, conflict is natural, and conflict arises from disagreements.

Humans need references and constructive criticism. This process can be traumatic, but it's all about building a better life. Instead of seeing conflict as a negative thing, see it as a positive thing that helps us grow and mature.

Don't get angry when someone scolds you or gives you advice. Even if you are reprimanded, calm your mind. Don’t get angry if you are rejected or if you accept advice. We'd be better off that way.

Happy working, keep the spirit; and always put the Lord Jesus first. May the Lord Jesus bless our lives, families, work, and ministry. Amen.
