Be Humble Before God

Be humble before God - The foundation of God’s word for our topic of discussion is taken from the Book of Joshua. This is what the Lord said: “The answer is, ‘No, but I am the commander of the Lord’s army.’ Now here I come.” Then Joshua fell to the ground and worshipped, saying, “Lord, what are you going to say to your servant?” (Joshua 5:14).

A large number of Christians are blessed by God as leaders. Many were inspired by their leadership. His example of life can improve the lives of those who are oppressed. Amazing!

But here, the leader’s heart is tested. Is he still sober and pure in heart in front of a true leader? It is not uncommon for Christian leaders to become arrogant and fall into pride.

God chose Joshua to replace Moses. From the beginning, God reminded us that the leader of the Israelites was himself. Joshua carried God's authority and was simply a reliable tool to guide his people.

This warning made Joshua aware of his position as a subordinate leader under a true leader. This awareness is reflected in his obedient attitude, always following the instructions of his true guide. His submission to God’s authority enabled him to remain humble and pure before God until the end of his life.

God equips us with His power to carry out His great plan on this earth. We have been chosen by God to be leaders in various ministries. Through Joshua, we are reminded to always be confident in order to remain humble.

Guarding the mind occurs when you realize that only God is the true leader of mankind. Submit to God’s authority through obedience and live a life that pleases God. Therefore, there is no place in our hearts for the temptation of pride.
