Rebuke As A Form Of Love

Rebuke as a form of love: The foundation of God's word for the theme of our meditation is taken from the apostle Paul's letter to the congregation in the city of Corinth. Thus says the Lord, “He does not rejoice in injustice; but rejoices in the truth” (1 Corinthians 13:6).

Loving means not liking to be hurt. Loving means not expecting anything bad to happen, especially not wanting to be hurt. To love means to be dissatisfied with chaos and evil, especially holding grudges.

Loving means not liking prejudice without clear evidence. To love means not to rejoice in other people's mistakes and failures. Loving also means covering sins, not spreading or announcing other people's mistakes.

Love, which at first glance only consists of these five letters, turns out to have a very broad meaning. Because it is not an easy matter to express pure love. One of them is when we have to cover our sins out of love.

Covering mistakes does not mean being silent or pretending not to know other people's mistakes or sins. Remembering that love does not rejoice over evil means expressing concern in the form of rebuking sin to bring repentance.

Giving a warning is risky. There is a possibility of strife because the love we express is misunderstood. Aren't there a few people who are reluctant to accept advice, even though it saves and builds?

However, don't let this stop our expression of love. Especially if we are afraid to rebuke because we are looking for safety so that we will not be disturbed when we commit a sin, Isn't it good to rebuke one another in love? Not out of hatred or wanting to drop or destroy!
